- I raely love the PC approach to modems. Why the hell do you need to have a
- driver installed for a modem for gods sake, it is just a serial device. All
- you need to do is send commands accross the serial port. On the amiga, all
- I had to do is plug in the modem and load the comms package (freeware), and
- I was away as soon as I had a BBS number. On the PC we had to do a 5 minute
- search for new hardware, after which it told us we had a different CD-ROM
- drive from the one we had. What a pile of crap. Face it, WinTel tech is
- outdated, slow and crap.
